I'm Ryan Durkin and I'm a freelance technical consultant and web developer based in Manchester specialising in SDL Tridion, Sitecore and bespoke Microsoft .Net applications.

I have 8 years experience in SDL Tridion (now known as SDL Web) and have successfully managed, architected and built over 16 Tridion projects. This experience has come from my freelance work and my time at Building Blocks where I have gone from Developer, to Senior Developer, to Technical Manager and then to Technical Director managing a team of 35 people across 3 different countries.
I'm a big believer in sharing with the community and so I organise and host the SDL Tridion UK User Group. I have also spoken about Continuous Integration with SDL Tridion alongside Rob Stevenson-Leggett at the Tridion Developer Summit. I also achieved MVP status in 2013 for my contribution to the community
Below are a few of the SDL Web services that I can offer:
I have developed against multiple versions of Tridion (5.3, 2009, 2011, 2013 & Web 8). This includes standard Template creation, custom WorkFlow, GUI Extensions, ASP.Net WebForms, ASP.Net MVC DD4T, DXA as well as complex Custom Pages and integrations into the CME.
I have held many technical workshops bringing together the customers IT team, the front-end development team and the UX team to come up with a technical architecture that fulfils the customers current and future plans.
SDL Tridion major versions are released every 2 years and it is important that you validate that your current server setup, templates and web sites are suitable for the latest version and what remedies are required if they are not. These upgrade scans are also required for major Service Pack updates too.
Throughout my time at Building Blocks I have performed hundreds of internal Content Editor and Developer training sessions. This has saved the company thousands of pounds in training fees. I have developed my own training plan and materials that are specific to the real world that people can connect with and understand.
I'm not just a geek, I do some other stuff too:
I've completed my Level 1 and Level 2 football coaching badges and have coached youth and adult football teams and loved every minute of it.
